Questions 1-5 refer to the following email.
To: Jeffrey Caldwell From: Jose Amadeo Re: Meeting follow-up
Hello Mr. Caldwell, We agreed in our meeting that you need to improve your office skills in order to perfor m your job duties adequately. I have attached a schedule of classes from the Business Training Institute. A number of your co-workers have taken classes there, and it has a fine reputation. Take a look at the Introduction to Database courses including Part I and Part II . I think you should sign up for Introduction to Database Part I . Even though you have a little experience here, it never hurts to start again from the beginning. Word Processing would also be usef ul , and I think you w ou ld qualify for Word Processing—Advanced course. Bookkeeping might be a good idea, too, but I'd prefer you sign up for just two courses now. There's no sense in overburdening yourself. So in addition to Introduction to Database Part I , you can choose between Word Processing—Advanced and Basic Book k eeping. The total cost of each course is roughly $1,350 but there is a discount therefore it only costs us $1,215. The company will take care of the entire tuition for you, so you need have no worries there. Kind regards, Jose Amadeo

THINK BIG – the world’s greatest engineering projects.
Construction Monthly UK presents a list of the greatest engineering projects in the world. You may not agree with all of them, but everyone agrees that engineers think big!
1. The Millau Viaduct
It's the most beautiful modern bridge in the world and it's also the tallest at 245 metres high. It was built in Frаnсе оvеr three years. The bridge has eight parts and crosses the river Таrn. lt has а dramatic shape but it doesn't have а big impact оn the environment.
2. Вurj Khalifa
The world's highest building was аn easy choice for this list. The engineers broke every height rесоrd bу 818 metres - over 300 metres taller than any other building. This incredible steel and glass tower in Dubai took just six years to build.
З. The Three Gorges Dam
China has built the world's largest hydroelectric роwеr station оп the Yangtze River. lt is оvеr two kilometres long and produces three per cent of China's electricity. This is enough electricity for Beijing for оnе year! The gigantic dam has increased electricity production and has also reduced flooding.
4. The Big Dig
lt's the most expensive road project in American history - the Big Dig. The project is to move а road, which originally went through the middle of Boston, under the city through а tunnel. The final bill is $22 billion!

Question 11 – 15
PRIVATE SPACE
At the moment, the industry is dominated by big-spending billionaires like the owner of SpaceX. In addition, the relatively small number of companies in the area could pose a problem in the future. The commercial space industry is still very new, and there is no guarantee that progress will be smoother. For one thing, no one is sure that the business model is sound: the government is still the major. If not only, customer available to the private space companies. The other problem is that space travel is high risk: the loss of space shuttles Challenger in 1986 and Columbia in 2003 illustrates that even the most carefully planned launches have unavoidable risks associated with them. The question is what would happen to the industry if another accident occurred. Finally, many space experts are doubtful that, even if private industry takes over the ‘taxi’ role for low-orbit missions, NASA will be able to achieve its ambitions, given its squeezed budgets and history of being used for political purpose. Furthermore, NASA may have created another space race, this time between the government and private industry. If NASA doesn’t go to Mars or the asteroid belt, its private competitors certainly have plans to do so.
